Hi Mogzilla and all my new cycling buddies.smiling bouncing smiley
First off can I say well done on the site guys.thumbs up
What an inspiration to would be cyclists and a mine of information.
As a newbie to riding I am also finding it hard to get to grips with a lot of things.

Mogzilla , I understand what your saying about the cost things and can see why you were sucked in.
I was almost sucked in myself , These guys clearly know their stuff and dont want you to end up
frustrated thinking your past it ,when it is more likely the cheap bikes not up to it.

I have a bunch of workmates who cycle regularly ,
I often hear tales of £2000 bikes being bought or sold with names Ive never heard of etc.
As a result I can ask for advice even if it is financially out of my league.
Their cycling regime is also out of my league (For Now)
Point being , Dont give up and shop around.

My first push iron was a second hand Hybrid from the local Raleigh shop £50 which was then traded for a Raleigh Mountain bike.
There`s a lot of jargon out there and I too find it mind blowingly confusing.
Im nearly 50 , an ex smoker and podgy but Ive grit what few teeth I have left and vowed not to be beaten by the Lycra Lot.

There are also a lot of web sites available inc Youtube for help advice and guidance.
Plus your local council should have info on cycling routes within your capabilities

Stay Safe but have Fun
Ps The knobbly bits on my tyres are wearing down , Phew what a relief !!hot smiley
