Glad to see we have been of use!

I am afraid that I am seeing more and more mixing up of component qualities in the more established manufacturers ranges. What they are all trying to do is to make a bike that is better than their rivals at a cheaper price and it just cannot be done. The things to keep an eye out for are bottom brackets and hubs and wheel builds. The saving grace about the more established brands is that overall you do get what you pay for and you will not find the sort of rubbish that is fitted to the supermarket bikes. Its just that you will eventually find out why a particular bike seemed a good buy when you have to take it to the bike shop to sort out which particular components that particular manufacturer has chosen to compromise to save money.
