Hi Murray

I spent a long time browsing cycling sites yesterday and still wasn't satisfied that I understood what I was meant to do. What you've written is definitely the clearest and most comprehensive. Basically I've got to 'feel' what seems right and comfortable to me, start in a lower gear and move up until I'm comfortable with my speed and the ease of peddling. Change down the gears for hills and stopping. Yes? By Jove, I think I've got it!
