A couple of tips for you on hydraulic brakes on bikes...

There are no universal standards and so many manufacturers use their own hydraulic fittings. If you damage a hose then chances are you will need original parts. That's when the problems of supply hit you, you won't be able to pop into your nearest bike shop and expect to pick up the parts and you won't be able to pop into your favourite hydraulics outfit and get them to make them up for you. Also a lot of bike systems do not have open master cylinders and to bleed them you need make specific bleed kits and don't believe all the you tube videos telling you how easy it is!
