At just over 35lbs the Raleigh is not a light bike if you need to take it up and down steps. Additionally it has a pannier rack which will probably get in the way of a child seat, and it only has a Sturmey Archer 5 speed hub gear. If you live in a hilly area you may want more gears.
That said, it would be a good general purpose bike and given reasonable care and attention should last for a good long time, and if you did find the gearing too high then the supplying shop would be able to fit a larger rear sprocket to lower the gearing.
Ask your dealer if it will take a child seat before you buy, and if the answer is yes then get it fitted before you collect the bike. They are quick release so you don't need to have it on all the time but the bracket does need to be in the correct position.
