Ah, perhaps now you know why the vast majority of cycle dealers will have nothing to do with electric bikes, ie., poor quality, poor aftersales generally very heavy and the fact that many parts are NOT compatible with ordinary bicycles.

There are comments on the website Pedelec regarding this motor - interesting to note that some relate to converting the chainset to make the bike go faster. I wonder if they realise that in doing so they also make the bike illegal and that they can be prosecuted for not having vehicle excise duty. An electric powered/assist bike is only legal to 15mph with a power output of 200 watts in the UK. I suspect the battery you have used is quite a bit higher than this.
