Cotterpin has got it summed up but a word of caution. When I went looking for the specs of the two bikes I found that there seemed to be various specs for these bikes so it might be that the ones you have seen might not match Cotterpins' description.

I agree with him about suspension forks on hybrids. You have to be sure that you need them before accepting the weight and cost penalty.

Personally I am not convinced about cable disc brakes on serious bikes and disc brakes on hybrids in general. Cable operated discs don't self adjust and and will need regular adjustment to take up the wear. This can be quite fiddly on some brakes. Also, and a bit more subtle, is that you tend to use your brakes as a drag brake to control speed on a hybrid and this can lead to quite high wear rates on the pads. At £15-20 a set this can lead to higher than you might expect running costs.
