ALLOY 5 105 VS ALLOY 6 TIAGRA

Hi everyone.

Total beginner to cycling, havent done any for 20 years, but looking at getting the best quality budget road bike suitable for long runs which Im going to build up to (aiming eventually for 100 mile).

Have done a bit of research and decided on a Sportive, and Cannondale seem to get good marks for quality. However the details of what Im getting for my money are a bit vague to me, when looking at the two specs below...

So my questions..

Do they represent good prices for the UK? (£759.99 and 879.99).

Is the 105 worth the extra £120 layout over the Tiagra?

The frame I presume is still a Cannondale one given the Synapse name?

Cannondale C4 v Tektro R539 brakes? Been hearing mixed stuff about Tektro?

Any elements in these lists worth replacing with alternatives during the point of sale?

Anything else worth checking with these two bikes when I visit the LBS?

Anyone had any experience with Paulscycles.co.uk? Are they any good?

I notice both have the BB30 bottom bracket, Ive heard this is a good thing?

I realise none of this stuff is even medium spec, I'm never going to be winning any races, Im doing it for personal challenge, fitness and fun....even if I come in last in any events I eventually enter. But I still want to be relatively comfortable with the best budget gear I can get for the price.

Any advice welcome.
