Most bikes above the ?350 price point would generally be classed as "good", ultimately the best bike is the best bike for you, not the best bike for somebody else. Visit a
shop, try sitting on some, find which feel most comfortable (they are all different) and then balance your budget against your requirements. In Hybrids, ?350 can get you a reasonable, well
specced bike which will give you good service and reliability, but it needs to be tailored to your needs.

As for brakes best for a Hybrid; Hybrids by their very nature are designed to
tackle a multitude of different riding settings. One trip may be pure tarmac, but the next may take in a worn fire track of Canal Towpath, even a woodland footpath. They therefore generally
come fitted with V-Brakes as used on mountain bikes, although cheaper models may still be fitted with cantilever brakes. Cantilevers are not as powerful as V-Brakes so I would have to say
that you should look for one fitted with V-Brakes.

: Can anyone recommend a good bike in the above category for ?350 or so.

: Also what are the best brakes you can buy for
the hybrid type?

: Thanks

: Martin
