I don't know what your budget is. For your information, I've been using a Dawes KaraKum touring bike for the last 3 years (mainly for commuting and social rides, also for John O'Groats to Lands End [1000+miles]). This bike has butterfly bars as standard along with mudguards and rear carrier. For the previous 20 years I had been using hybrid bikes.
