I've got a slight problem i wondered if you could help me with. I have a Claud Butler Urban 200, 3 months old. It has developed a 'cracking noise' coming from the back wheel when under load, i.e. going uphill, but not freewheeling. It started within a couple of months of having the bike and it had steadily got worse, so i decided to remove the rear wheel to take a look at the bearings and freewheel bearings, everything seems fine, no visual damage, so i regreased the bearings and put everything back together taking care not to overtighten the wheel or freewheel bearings. Went out for a ride the other day, the first incline i came to as soon as i started putting pressure through the rear wheel... crack, crack, crack, in time with the revolution of the wheel, then it went on to 2 cracks per revolution getting louder and louder 'till i thought something drastic was gonna happen! When it levelled out at the top it was still doing it, tried freewheeling and it went away! It's really bugging me! Sorry that was a bit long winded! Thanks for all your help!
