Hello All,

I'm looking to get a new Hybrid bike. I live in London and commute everywhere on my current bike. It's an Apollo Highway that I bought from Halfords last year for £200 (I know it's Halfords, don't kill me!) and it's actually been very comfortable and reliable so far and served it's purpose of getting me addicted to cycling without spending a fortune.

I've recently started longer recreational journeys. (The thames path being my weekend jaunt) And have just signed up to the London to Oxford charity ride in July..

Now i've got a little bit more to spend £350 - £400 at a push, I'd like to upgrade. This time next year I want to cycle London to Paris (a casual ride NOT flat out!)
and given that I ride to work (20 mile round trip through from west to east London through the city centre) and that I often use the thames path and some country muddy lanes I presume a Hybrid is best to continue on?

So I guess my questions to you experts are:

1) What's decent for £350?
2) Can I get away with long distance rides with a £350 bike?
3) What is the key bit of advice for someone starting out?

I've been suggested this:

Any good?

Any tips are welcome.

Thanks in Advance.
